A Flowforth-only email address lets you send Flowforth emails to a different address than the one stored in a person’s Planning Center profile. When set, all emails from Flowforth go to this address instead. Their Planning Center email remains unchanged.

When to Use a Flowforth-Only Email

This is useful when someone wants to receive church newsletters and communications at a different address than the one used for Planning Center notifications. Common examples:
  • A person prefers church emails at their personal inbox but uses a work email in Planning Center
  • A family shares a Planning Center email but one member wants Flowforth emails at their own address
  • Someone wants their Giving statements to go to a different address than announcement emails.

How to Set a Flowforth-Only Email

  1. Navigate to the People page and click on a person’s name
  2. Open the Details tab
  3. Click Add Flowforth only email address
  4. Enter the email address and click Add Email
Once set, the Flowforth-only email appears on the person’s Details tab with a “Flowforth Only” badge.

Editing or Removing

To update or remove a Flowforth-only email:
  1. Open the person’s Details tab
  2. Click on the existing Flowforth-only email address
  3. Edit the address and click Update, or click Remove to delete it
When you remove a Flowforth-only email, Flowforth reverts to using the person’s Planning Center email addresses for all future sends.

How It Affects Sending

When a person has a Flowforth-only email set:
  • All emails from Flowforth are sent to the Flowforth-only address, not their Planning Center email
  • Their Planning Center email is not changed in any way
  • Merge tags (like first name) still pull from their Planning Center profile
  • The Flowforth-only address appears in the Flowforth Email column when exporting people

Flowforth-Only Emails from CSV Imports

Flowforth-only emails can also be created during a CSV import. When importing contacts and a name matches an existing person with a different email, one of the options is “Use email in Flowforth only.” This stores the imported email as a Flowforth-only address without adding it to Planning Center.

Finding People with Flowforth-Only Emails

You can filter the People table to find everyone who has a Flowforth-only email set. Use the Flowforth Only Email filter and select Has Flowforth Only Email.
