# File Download Block

> Add a downloadable file with a title and file icon to your emails.

The file download block displays a file with a title and icon that recipients can click to download. It is useful for sharing bulletins, forms, guides, and other downloadable resources.

***

## Adding a File Download Block

Drag the **File Download** block from the block palette into your email canvas. Then select a file from your asset library in the sidebar editor.

***

## Configuration

Select the file download block to open its settings in the sidebar:

* **File**: Choose a file from your asset library. This is the file recipients will download when they click the block.
* **Display Title**: Customize the text shown next to the file icon. By default, this uses the file name, but you can change it to something more descriptive.

***

## Customization Options

* **File Background Color**: Set the background color of the file icon area
* **Text Color**: Set the color of the display title

***

## Tips

* Give your file a clear, descriptive display title so recipients know what they are downloading. For example, use "Sunday Bulletin, May 18" instead of "bulletin-final-v2.pdf."
* Upload files to your asset library before building your email so they are ready to select when you need them.
* This block works well for weekly bulletins, event registration forms, volunteer guides, annual reports, and similar documents.
