# Form Submission Trigger

> Start an automation the moment someone submits a Planning Center form.

The **When a person submits a form** trigger enrolls people into an automation as soon as they submit a **Planning Center form**. It's the perfect way to follow up right after someone submits a form.

***

## Setting It Up

1. Choose **When a person submits a form** as your trigger.
2. Select the **Planning Center form** to watch.
3. Select the **email category** the automation's emails will be sent under.

When someone submits that form, they enter the automation and begin moving through your steps.

## What Counts as a Submission

This trigger responds to submissions from anywhere the form can be filled out, including:

* The form's own **Church Center** page
* Your Flowforth [**signup forms**](/people/signup-forms) and website embeds

So whether someone signs up through your hosted signup page, an embed on your website, or directly in Church Center, they'll enter the automation just the same.

<Note>
  Watching a form requires a connected Planning Center account with access to the form. If a form is later deleted or can no longer be found in Planning Center, the automation will flag the trigger so you can pick a different form.

## A Great Pairing with Signup Forms

Combine this trigger with a [signup form](/people/signup-forms) to create a complete sign-up-to-welcome flow: someone fills out your newsletter signup, Planning Center records the submission, and your automation immediately sends a welcome email — no manual steps in between.
